How can you get a residence permit in Turkey?

There are 6 types of residence permits for foreigners in Turkey:

1. Short Term Residence Permit

2.Family residence permit

3. Student residence permit

4. Long-term residence permit

5. Humanitarian residence permit

6. Victim of human trafficking residence permit

An appointment is made with the Immigration Administration for residence permit application. This is done online. At the time of the appointment, you go with the required documents to the Immigration Administration. So what documents will be needed? Let’s sort:

First of all, a Residence Permit Application Form will be required, as well as the original and photocopy of the passport or replacement document, 4 biometric photographs, a declaration of sufficient and regular financial means for the stay, a valid health insurance, a notarized rental agreement on your behalf, a birth certificate for children and, for married people, the marriage certificate or certified photocopy of the document proving that you are married.

The documents are checked by the officials and the fees are paid after they are approved. If you want, you can get a Residence Permit Application Document. With this document, you can stay up to 15 days in Turkey.

After your application is approved, your residence card will be sent to your home address. This process can take approximately 25 days.

Under certain conditions, your application for residence may be denied, these reasons are as follows:

• Failure to fulfil one or more of the conditions required for a residence permit,

• If it is determined that the residence permit is used outside of the purpose for which it was given,

• The existence of a valid deportation or entry ban decision from the government,

• Violation in terms of duration of stay abroad.
