National Electronic Notification System (UETS)

What is UETS and what is it for?
UETS, or National Electronic Notification Systemis a system established and operated by PTT in accordance with the Electronic Notification Regulations prepared under the Notice Law No. 7201, for the purpose of delivering electronic notifications to legal and to individuals.
For persons with a UETS address, notifications of received electronic notifications are sent to the email address they provide or via SMS. Even if the recipient does not open the notice, it will be considered delivered five days after the date it was received.
Foreigners residing or operating in Turkey may be required to register with the UETS (Ulusal Elektronik Tebligat Sistemi) systemfor several reasons:
1. Legal and judicial notices:
- If a foreigner is involved in legal proceedings in Turkey, notices from the court can be sent through UETS. This allows you to quickly receive important legal documents and respond to them in a timely manner.
2. Interaction with government agencies:
- Foreigners doing business in Turkey or doing business with government agencies may be required to receive official notices from various government agencies through UETS. This includes tax notices, communications from municipalities and other important documents.
3.Communication with business partners and clients:
- For foreign entrepreneurs and companies operating in Turkey, UETS provides a secure channel for exchanging legally relevant documents with local partners and clients.
4. Speed up bureaucratic procedures:
- Using UETS helps reduce the time it takes to receive and send important documents, which can be especially useful for foreigners who are used to faster processes in other countries.
Obtaining UETS for foreigners is an important step to simplify interaction with Turkish government and legal systems, ensure security and speed in receiving important notifications.
From April 15, 2024, the Migration Department requests a UETS address for all applications for residence permit renewal.
