What documents are required to obtain a residence permit in Turkey?
1. Application form for residence permit.
2. Photocopy of your passport or document replacing your passport (The original document must be with you on the day of the interview).
3. 4 biometric photographs on a white background.
4. Declaration of constant and sufficient income during the period of residence, issued on the last page of the residence permit application form (Supporting documents may be required).
5. Documents/receipts for payment of state fees.
6. Valid health insurance.
7. Certificate of residential address of the property.
Above is a general list of documents.
Further, depending on the basis, the following will be additionally requested: a real estate lease agreement, TAPU, registration at the place of residence, receipts for electricity/water connection in the name of the applicant.
Additionally for those with family:
- If applying with a family, you will need documents confirming family ties: marriage/birth certificates with apostilles.
- If only one of the parents comes with the child, an apostilled consent to reside in Turkey and obtain a residence permit is required from the second parent.
- If one of the parents is absent, you must provide a document confirming this fact with an apostille.
Additional documents may be requested depending on the basis for obtaining a residence permit in Turkey.
Paragraphs 47, 50 and 51 of Law No. 6458 “On Foreigners and International Protection” indicate stateless persons and the temporary type of residence permit for them. Stateless: refers to a person who does not have the status of belonging to any known state.
The cost of state fees depends on the citizenship of the applicant, the validity period of the residence permit, initial application or renewal, as well as on the type of residence permit itself.
